You have a bachelor's/master's level of work and thinking (HRM, Business Administration, I/O Psychology or similar) and at least 5 years of experience in talent development, performance management or strategic HR, preferably in a technical environment. Additionally: Experience with leading or coaching professionals Experience within a technical environment is a plus The ability to switch between executive level and individual development discussions Experience with strategic workforce planning and working with HR data and KPIs Empathy combined with results orientation Understanding of the business and the people behind it

Job description

At MechDes Engineering, over 100 engineers work daily on challenging technical issues for leading clients. To keep our organization and further growth future-proof, we are looking for a Lead Talent & Performance. In this role, you play a key role in strengthening ownership, development, and sustainable employability of our engineers. Within the Talent & Performance domain, you work on an environment where professionals continue to develop and teams can perform optimally. What makes this role special is the combination of leadership and contributing to the development of the Talent & Performance domain. You are close to the people and think along about the direction of the organization. You thus have a direct impact on both strategy and daily operations.

What will you do?

You lead a group of approximately 20 to 30 engineers. In this role, you are their manager, sparring partner, and guide. You conduct talent and performance discussions, stimulate development, and help engineers consciously take charge of their careers.

At the same time, you safeguard engagement, job satisfaction, and sustainable employability. You also look ahead. What competencies will we need tomorrow? How do we ensure knowledge is retained? And how do we keep our engineers agile in a market that is constantly changing?

Together with your colleagues within Talent & Performance, you actively work on further developing this domain within MechDes. You work on policy, strategic workforce planning, and a clear link between talent development, our technical roadmap, and the project portfolio. This is not only about developing policy, but also applying it in practice and making the impact measurable.

We are looking for someone who:

  • smoothly switches between strategy and execution
  • translates organizational goals into concrete development initiatives
  • provides insight into capacity, turnover, and growth scenarios and makes recommendations
  • translates HR KPIs into targeted actions
  • shares data-driven management information with the MT
  • advises engineers, managers, and the MT on talent utilization and strategic workforce planning from a coaching leadership perspective
  • collaborates with internal and external partners on sustainable employability and vitality programs
