Kick-off meeting

We invite you to our office in Harderwijk. We go deeper into the initial question to be sure to develop a good product.

CONCEPT ENGINEERING

We combine the knowledge gained from the kick-off meeting and our expertise. We use this to create a first 3D concept. We discuss with you what we are going to build.

BASIC ENGINEERING

We start with engineering on a macro level. We zoom in on the challenges in the project and develop a solid foundation.

DETAIL ENGINEERING

From a solid foundation, details are applied to the design. Everything is calculated and tested.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What software do you work with?

Within MechDes we have experience with the well-known 3D packages such as; Solid Works, Inventor, Catia, Solid Edge, Siemens NX. We perform FEM calculations in ANSYS Workbench, among others. In addition to the software mentioned above, we also have licenses for 20-sim and ANSYS Discovery. We can provide animations and visualizations in Delfoi, among others. The most suitable software is selected based on the customer’s wishes. In terms of PDM, we have several options. In addition, it is also possible to work remotely on the customer’s systems.
What is your working method?

Within MechDes we have a structured project approach. Each project starts with a kick-off meeting where we preferably invite the customer to our location in Harderwijk to further investigate the initial question and to show the customer where and how we work. Then, based on the request, a start is made with concept, basic or detailed engineering. In each phase, the customer is involved in the engineering, which is concluded with a design freeze meeting.
Do I have a permanent contact person during my project?

Yes. Within a project you are linked to one of our project managers; Arjan Schouten or Dries Vis. Both gentlemen are traditional mechanical constructors, so they have considerable technical knowledge. In addition, within each project there is a lead engineer with technical responsibility. As a customer you are in contact with at least one of the project managers and the lead engineer.
Which partners do you work with?

Many of our customers already have an existing collaboration with various partners. In that case, we are also happy to work with them for, for example, the control or hydraulics. If you as a customer would like advice on this, we as MechDes also have a good network in which we can recommend partners to customers.
Which disciplines does MechDes offer?

Within MechDes we have two main disciplines; Mechanical Engineering and Structural Engineering. Within MechDes there is also sufficient knowledge of other disciplines such as hydraulics and controls to manage parties in projects that have this as expertise. A good example of this is the climbing crane that we designed and calculated for Lagerwey.
