Celebrating 25 years of MechDes

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of MechDes, we threw a party for employees, family, friends and acquaintances on the evening of April 4, 2019.

Timeline 25 years of MechDes
During the evening, our guests were taken through the past 25 years of MechDes. We made this visual through a timeline in the hall, made available by AWL. All milestones were included in the timeline.

Course Solidworks & Presentation Structural Engineering
Solidworks courses were given to allow visitors to take a look behind the scenes at MechDes. Solidworks is the 3D-CAD program that MechDes mainly works with. Family members, friends and acquaintances of employees have been able to get acquainted with the work performed by MechDes in this way. Maarten de Witte gave a presentation about Structural Engineering several times in the evening. This has given visitors insights into what kind of calculations are involved in the interesting projects of MechDes Special Equipment.

Field Lab
In the Field Lab of AWL, where a large part of the party took place, many activities were available for the visitors. For example, they were able to weld a telephone holder themselves using a laser welding technique. There was also a VR Experience in which an operator could operate the welding mold by placing parts in the mold and starting the machine. A number of other robots could also be seen in action in the Field Lab, such as a robot that drives itself through the hall (AGV – automated guided vehicles).

Food Trucks
We made sure that all visitors got enough snacks and drinks. We arranged 8 food trucks with something for everyone. From fish to wraps and from pasta to chicken. A nice coffee at the barista or a drink at the bar. Everything had been taken into account, so that all visitors went home satisfied. The trucks all looked their best with nice paintwork. In addition, the decoration around the trucks was also amazing. It was as if our visitors were at a festival.

All in all, it was a successful evening in which all of our guests were taken along in a playful way through the past 25 years of MechDes.
