As a Junior Mechanical Engineer at MechDes Engineering Harderwijk you will be trained as a skilled engineer. Within the business Unit MechDes Tooling & Machines we have a thorough induction process for machines in which you become acquainted with the methods and systems of MechDes. After the familiarization you will work in a real automotive project. You can think of designing complex tooling with which components of cars are welded. We at MechDes Engineering Harderwijk have been specialized in engineering tooling for the automotive industry for many years. This concerns engineering on the square millimeter, requiring precision and insight into manufacturability and adjustability. What sets MechDes apart from other engineering firms is that we have production in-house. We are located at our parent company AWL Techniek in Harderwijk.
Projects can last from a few weeks to several months, depending on the size of a project. As a Junior Mechanical Engineer you learn a lot from experienced colleagues with whom you are part of a project team. You know well what your tasks are in a project and what it takes to grow to the next level (Mechanical Engineer).
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer Tooling at MechDes Engineering Harderwijk you are able to design independently in 3D CAD tools. Preferably you have experience with SolidWorks, but experience in another package such as Solid Edge or Inventor is certainly also welcome. Within MechDes we use a PDM (SmartTeam). Experience with this is welcome, but not necessary. In addition to designing in Solidworks, Solid Edge or Autodesk Inventor, you are able to make the associated calculations and choose the right materials.
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer you are able to assess and implement change requests. These kinds of changes are discussed during construction discussions. You are also a Junior Mechanical Engineer able to lift your fellow engineers to a higher level and to set up work at the Draftsmans.
At MechDes Engineering Harderwijk we have formulated an effective project approach from kick-off to release for production. The intermediate steps are; concept freeze, design freeze and final design. Steps are described in each phase that must be completed in order to proceed to the next phase. This creates clarity for the team members, but also for the customer.
