Job description
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer Heavy Machinery & Offshore at MechDes Engineering Harderwijk you take responsibility for complex structures. This includes the largest crane in the world, blade lifting equipment for wind turbines, winches, lifting equipment and other unique projects such as a climbing crane (video).
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you often design large steel structures in SolidWorks or Inventor. You try to make the best possible design and you are able to calculate your own designs to a greater or lesser extent by means of hand calculations and possibly simulation software (preferably Ansys). If there is little or no experience with simulation software, this should not be an obstacle. You can be trained in this. In addition to setting up 3D models, as a Senior Mechanical Engineer you have insight into manufacturability and you know how to choose the right materials. SolidWorks will be your primary tool as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you perform managerial and/or coordinating activities. As a Senior within MechDes you have an exemplary role for the less experienced Constructors and you know how to transfer your knowledge to this group.
What we think is important for this vacancy
- A completed mechanical engineering (wtb) study at HBO or WO level;
- At least 5 years of experience as an Engineer;
- Experience with 3D CAD tools (preferably Solidworks, Solid Edge or Autodesk Inventor);
- Be able to communicate in Dutch and English;
- Insight into manufacturability.
